Here I am in Cafe Mas X 3. Rockin' an RU hand-made tie-dye shirt. [[Special shout out to Amanda Durkin for making me this awesome shirt!]]
Today I walked to and from school - the usual.
After school, for a change of pace I didn't physically go to Buen Pastor. Instead, Nichole, Estefania and I explored a new part of Cusco in search of activity ideas for our final day with the girls.
We went to an area called San Pedro and found a lot of different stores with beads and thread. We originally were going to make bracelets with the girls. Then, we decided to do something else with the girls - we decided to orchestrate our own mini "olympics" for the girls.
We purchased prizes for all the girls and planned out events. We were supposed to execute our "olympics" on Friday, however, many of the girls were preoccupied with washing their clothes. As a result, we rescheduled our event for Monday.
In walking around the area, I found a kiosk that sold lots of books. I was very interested and excited to see classic books such as Macbeth, The Black Cat and the Illiad all written in Spanish!
After we had our event planned out, we went to a cocoa museum. At the museum we all tried some delicious chocolate tea that they deemed, "a sinless taste of chocolate" - and it truly was delicious.
I also tried a 'nib' of 70% dark chocolate with sea salt. Super tasty.
During our walk, we made two more stops.
1 - to the cafe pictured in my photo for this post. I drank some delicious coffee. Cup number 6 in 22 days...impressive?
2 - to an Indian/Vegetarian restaurant called Govinda.
I ate a great dinner filled with rice, potatoes, vegetables and soy meat.
After our long adventurous day, I basically went back to the hostel, and shortly after went to bed.
I apologize for the delay in posts. I have been busy AND I have not been getting internet access. Sigh.
Stay tuned for my weekend (psttttt I'm visiting one of the 7 wonders of the world!)
Hasta pronto mis amores!
